HADRIAN'S WALL WALK

Experience one of Britain's most historic landscapes with the 7th edition of the Hadrian’s Wall Half Marathon on October 16, 2027. This year, runners can also participate in a brand-new marathon option for an even more extensive journey through time and terrain.
The half marathon kicks off at Housesteads Roman Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage site nestled along the Military Road. The route follows the iconic Hadrian’s Wall Trail Path for 6 miles before descending to Newbrough and weaving through serene woodlands. Runners will then traverse the Tyne Riverside Trail Path, finishing in the picturesque Tyne Green Country Park.
The marathon course starts at a location yet to be confirmed but is set to follow the wall until it merges with the half marathon route near Housesteads Roman Fort. Both events offer staggered starts from 7:30 am to ensure minimal congestion and protection of this historic site.
Participants can enjoy live chip-timing provided by Timing Up North, bag drop services at registration, and a well-organized finish line complete with event t-shirts, medals, and snacks for all finishers. The race is also dog-friendly, allowing one well-controlled pet per person to join the fun on leashes throughout the route.
Join runners from around the world as they walk or run through some of Britain’s most scenic and historically significant landscapes. This unique experience offers an unparalleled blend of physical challenge, stunning views, and a rich tapestry of Roman history that will leave you with unforgettable memories.
