Golden Fleece Circuit 2027

The Golden Fleece Circuit, established in memory of Bob Gunby, is set for March 6, 2027. This challenging walk, organized by South Cave Scout Group, honors the legacy of Bob, an avid walker and dedicated scouter who contributed significantly to the community before his passing in late 2010.
Participants can choose between two routes: a longer 27.5-mile trek or a shorter 15-mile option, both weaving through the picturesque Wolds and Valleys of southern East Yorkshire. The event starts at All Saints’ Community Centre in South Cave at 8:30 AM, with registration opening from 7:00 AM.
The route offers scenic views and varied terrain, reflecting Bob's love for the outdoors and his commitment to sharing knowledge about hiking and scouting skills. Entry fees cover a badge, certificate, and refreshments along the way and upon completion of the walk.
All under-18 participants must be accompanied by an adult throughout the event. There is also a safety checkpoint at York Ground Farm with a 3 PM cutoff for continued participation.
Maps and detailed route descriptions are available in advance to help walkers prepare for this memorable tribute to Bob Gunby's spirit and contributions to scouting.
