East Yorkshire Cross Country League 2026 - 2027

The East Yorkshire Cross Country League returns for its 2026-27 season, offering runners six challenging Sundays across the picturesque landscapes of East Yorkshire. Set to kick off on November 8th with the Welton race hosted by Goole Viking Striders and Selby Striders, this series promises a unique blend of scenic routes and competitive spirit.
Each event is meticulously timed using chip technology, ensuring accurate results for all participants. The league's second leg at Welton showcases rolling hills and diverse terrain that challenge even the most seasoned runners. With previous races in charming villages like Bishop Wilton and Wetwang already under way or planned, this year’s lineup promises a mix of familiar favorites and exciting new venues.
One notable feature is the addition of a reserve race venue should any event need to be rescheduled due to unforeseen circumstances. Should such an occasion arise, Dalby will step in as the backup location on February 28th, offering runners another chance at completing their series goals if needed.
Participants must adhere strictly to league rules and wear official club vests or tops with race numbers prominently displayed for all races they compete in. The entry fee of £20 includes access to six races, a presentation ceremony, and a post-race buffet—perfectly rounding off each event day.
With stunning Yorkshire scenery as your backdrop and the camaraderie of fellow runners pushing you forward, this league offers an unparalleled cross-country experience for both newcomers and seasoned athletes alike. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to join in the excitement and challenge yourself against some of East Yorkshire’s best trails.
As part of the league, make sure to collect your race number from your club representative before each event or at the first venue if you're starting there. Remember, completing four races is key for individual prize eligibility.
This season's events are sanctioned under UKA rules and supported by Sports Timing Solutions, ensuring a fair and well-organized competition throughout the series.
For those looking to immerse themselves in Yorkshire’s vibrant running community while testing their limits on challenging terrain, the East Yorkshire Cross Country League is an event not to be missed.
