Embrace the chill of winter along the historic Leeds & Liverpool Canal with the Frostbite Sir Titus Trot, an invigorating run that promises crisp air and frosty towpaths. Whether you're a first-time runner or an ultra-distance warrior looking to set new personal bests in cooler conditions, this event offers something for everyone. The route follows the flat (though nearly even) canal path, which can be icy or slippery in spots—so take care as you navigate the terrain. Distances range from 10 kilometers to a full marathon, with feed and drink stations every three miles to keep your energy up throughout the race. The course is fully marshalled and clearly marked for easy navigation. Start your day early at Saltaire Station, just two minutes away from the start line, or park nearby—council charges may apply so be sure to check signs. Additional parking options are available at Titus Salt School, and car-sharing is encouraged to minimize congestion. Registration begins at 8:00 AM, allowing plenty of time for parking, registration, and a pit stop before your chosen start times: - The 10K kicks off at 10:00 AM - Both the 10 Miler and 20 Miler (two laps) begin at 8:30 AM - The Half Marathon starts promptly at 9:00 AM As always, be prepared for winter conditions with layers, gloves, and hats. Keep an eye out for icy patches on the towpath. This is a cup-less event, so bring your own reusable bottle or cup to stay hydrated. For safety, avoid using large over-ear headphones; bone conduction earphones or "one in, one out" are acceptable if needed. Be vigilant at road crossings as some may be unmanned during the race. Manage any necessary transfers through our website and remember that changes on race day can cause delays for others. All races comply with UKA rules under Trail Running Association licensing. Join us this winter to experience the unique atmosphere of Grim Up North, complete your run with a bespoke medal and enjoy plenty of post-race treats at the finish line.
