The event features two duathlon distances — Standard (10km run, 44km cycle, 5km run) and Sprint (5km run, 23km cycle, 2.5km run), alongside 5km and 10km trail runs for those who prefer to focus solely on running. The Forest of Dean is renowned for its ancient woodland, rich wildlife, and towering evergreens, providing the perfect backdrop for this event. The trails are runnable with a mix of forest paths, fire roads, and open clearings that cater to all levels of runners seeking an immersive experience amidst stunning natural beauty. For cyclists, the routes take advantage of the Forest's renowned off-road network featuring smooth gravel fire roads and fast flowing woodland tracks. While it offers some technical sections for added excitement, a mix of climbs and long descents make this course both challenging and enjoyable. Suitable bikes include Gravel, Hybrid or Mountain Bikes. The transition area is secure with clear instructions on where to rack your bike based on your race number ensuring everything runs smoothly during the event.
