First Chance 10K

The First Chance 10k, organized by South West Road Runners, offers runners the perfect opportunity to kick off their racing year on January 10, 2027. Set along Exeter's picturesque River Exe and canal, this fast and flat course is ideal for those looking to chase a personal best or simply enjoy a scenic run.
Race day begins at Haven Banks Outdoor Education Centre with the start line set for 10:30am. Participants can collect their race numbers and timing chips from Race HQ starting at 8:30am, allowing ample time to prepare before the event kicks off. The entry fees are £16 for affiliated runners and £18 for unaffiliated participants.
With a course accurately measured at 10k and chip timing in place, this race ensures precision and fairness throughout. All finishers will receive a commemorative medal upon crossing the line within the two-hour cut-off time. The event accommodates up to 750 runners, providing an intimate atmosphere where every participant can feel seen and supported.
Runners are encouraged to enjoy the serene surroundings while adhering to race rules that prohibit in-ear headphones but allow bone-conduction models for safety reasons. Entries may be transferred or amended through Eventrac until a week before race day; however, no refunds or deferrals will be available once this deadline passes. Detailed race-day instructions will be provided via confirmation email.
Experience the spirit of New Year's racing ambitions as you join fellow runners along Exeter’s scenic waterways for an unforgettable start to your athletic journey.
