Ferriby 10 - 2027

Since its inception in 1954, the North Ferriby Road Race has been an integral part of Hull's running tradition. Originally organized as a staggered start handicap race by East Hull Harriers and Driffield Harriers along a scenic training route, this event quickly gained popularity among local runners and beyond. Over the years, it evolved into one of the area’s most beloved races, welcoming participants from various clubs across England.
In recent editions, the course has been relocated to Skidby due to road construction near the Humber Bridge, but its spirit remains unchanged. The race attracts a diverse group of athletes each year, with notable performances such as Brendan Foster's record-breaking 48:01 in 1980 and Kris Lecher’s current men's course record of 50:42 set more recently.
The event is known for its competitive nature and scenic route through Skidby. In the most recent race held in 2025, Rob Payne (Cleethorpes AC) won the men's division with a time of 51:45 while Becky Briggs from City of Hull AC claimed victory among women runners at 58:12.
This year’s edition on January 31, 2027, will feature new sponsorships and partnerships that aim to enhance the runner experience. The race starts promptly at 9:00 am, offering participants a challenging yet rewarding course through Skidby's picturesque landscapes. With a cut-off time of two hours thirty minutes in place since 2022, runners can enjoy the competitive spirit while knowing they have ample time to complete their run.
For those looking for an added incentive, England Athletics affiliated members receive a £2 discount on entry fees. The race continues to thrive thanks to generous support from local sponsors and organizers dedicated to fostering community engagement in athletics.
