Devil o' the Highlands Footrace

The West Highland Way Ultramarathon, scheduled for April 24, 2027, is a challenging and scenic 42-mile point-to-point race that winds through the breathtaking highlands of Scotland from Tyndrum to Fort William. This year's edition also serves as the SCOTTISH ULTRA TRAIL CHAMPIONSHIPS, offering runners an unparalleled opportunity to compete alongside some of the best ultramarathoners in Scotland.
The route follows one of Britain’s most iconic long-distance trails, featuring rugged landscapes and stunning vistas that include glens, lochs, and rolling hills. Runners will traverse through Glencoe and Kinlochleven, encountering a variety of terrains including rocky paths, forested areas, and open moorland.
The race features three mandatory cut-off checkpoints: at 17 miles (Glencoe) by 10:30 AM, at 27 miles (Kinlochleven) by 1:30 PM, and again at Lundavra checkpoint (35 miles) by 4:15 PM. These timing constraints ensure a safe race experience while allowing participants to enjoy the scenic beauty of Scotland’s highlands.
To accommodate runners effectively, parking in Tyndrum is limited due to local business concerns. Therefore, organizers strongly recommend using public transport or car-sharing options for travel logistics. Accommodation can be booked both at Tyndrum and Fort William, with shuttle services available between these locations on race day.
