The race courses wind along the dramatic cliff tops overlooking the gorge, providing panoramic views that stretch across open Somerset Meadows. As runners ascend through the historic Mendip Hills, they will encounter remnants of Roman mining operations and World War II bunkers, adding an intriguing layer to this scenic route. The Half Marathon and Marathon distances offer a special treat as they reach Beacon Batch, the highest point on the Mendip Hills. From here, athletes are rewarded with awe-inspiring 360-degree views that capture the essence of this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
The event takes place within an AONB, ensuring runners experience pristine landscapes and unspoiled natural beauty at every turn.
