About the Event

Celebrate the birth of Charles Darwin on International Charles Darwin Day by running through historic Shrewsbury. This unique race offers runners the chance to explore different distances—from a scenic 5K to an exhilarating full marathon—on a traffic-free, purpose-built cycle track at The Shrewsbury Sports Village.
The event promises a smooth and swift experience with chip-timed laps that allow you to focus solely on your performance. With only 150 spots available, the race ensures a personal touch and a sense of camaraderie among participants as they navigate through each lap.
Participants can make use of the village's amenities including a café for post-race refreshments, clean restrooms, and changing facilities with showers to freshen up after your run.
Aid stations are strategically placed around the track, offering runners an array of drinks and snacks to keep their energy levels high throughout the race. Friendly marshals will be on hand to cheer you on every step of the way.
All finishers receive a special Darwin Day medal as a memento of this historic celebration in Shrewsbury, marking not only your achievement but also the spirit of scientific exploration that Charles Darwin embodies.
