Set against the serene backdrop of Romney Marsh in South Kent, the Lydd Half Marathon offers runners an idyllic and flat course through picturesque country lanes north of the town. The race is meticulously timed using electronic chips provided by Nice Work, ensuring accuracy for all participants. This event has become a favorite among both newcomers to half marathons and seasoned athletes alike who are incorporating it into their spring marathon training regimens. Over the years, Lydd Half Marathon has attracted runners from across the UK and beyond, drawing praise for its fast course and welcoming atmosphere. Sponsored by Brett, one of the largest independent construction and building materials companies in the United Kingdom, this race is more than just a competition; it's an opportunity to support local causes. Proceeds benefit the Mayor of Lydd’s Charity Fund, which supports various charitable initiatives within the community. In addition to the main half marathon event, the day includes a Children’s Race designed for young runners looking to experience the thrill of racing on a Sunday morning in a safe and encouraging environment. The race is not just about crossing the finish line but also about enjoying the beautiful setting around Lydd while contributing to meaningful local causes. We invite all participants to join us in celebrating this unique blend of sport, community spirit, and charitable giving at the upcoming Lydd Half Marathon. Join us for an unforgettable day filled with running, camaraderie, and a chance to make a difference.
