The Bloomfield Backyard Ultra is an endurance challenge that pushes runners beyond their limits through the heart of Bloomfield, Kentucky. This unique race format sees participants tackle a 4.167-mile loop every hour on the hour until only one runner remains standing. The event takes place in Bloomfield City Park and invites the entire community to join in, cheering runners on with cowbells, signs, and enthusiastic support.
Each lap begins at precisely the top of each hour, giving participants a chance to rest or strategize during the intervening time if they finish early enough. Runners can set personal goals ranging from their longest run ever to ambitious milestones like 25 miles, 50 miles, or even striving for an unprecedented distance. The course winds through Bloomfield's streets and neighborhoods, offering glimpses of local businesses and homes as it circles back to the starting point.
While traffic rules must be followed at all times due to the open nature of the route, runners will find themselves surrounded by a supportive community eager to see how far they can go.
