FAQs

1. What if I can't afford the registration fee or don't want to register online? Everyone is welcome at the Vamos Pavo 5K. If cost, online registration, or payment by credit card would make it difficult for you or your family to participate, you can register in person on the day of the event at no cost. No explanation is necessary, and you do not need a credit/debit card.
2.  Do I have to run? Not at all! Walkers are welcome, and you do not have to complete the entire 5K.
3. Will the race be timed? Yes, we will have volunteers keeping time, but this will not be a chip-timed race.
4. Will there be T-shirts? Not this year—but we hope to add them in the future!
5. Can kids participate? Absolutely! Kids are welcome to participate with their families.
6. Can I bring my pet? Because space on the track is limited, pets cannot participate in the 5K. They are welcome to cheer you on from the sidelines, though!
7. Where does my registration fee go? Proceeds from the Vamos Pavo 5K will benefit Bluegrass Community Action of Anderson County (https://www.bluegrasscommunityaction.org/) 
8. What happens if the weather is bad? The event will take place rain or shine unless conditions make it unsafe to proceed. Any weather-related updates will be shared with registered participants.
9. Can I participate with a stroller? Strollers are welcome, but we ask participants with strollers to be mindful of others and start toward the back of the group.
10. Do I need to be an experienced runner? Definitely not! Whether this is your first 5K or your fiftieth, you are welcome.
11. Is there a restroom available? Yes. Restrooms are available at Anderson Community Park. We will not be bringing in additional portable restrooms.
12. Will there be water available? Yes, but we encourage all participants to bring their own water bottles.
13. What time should I arrive? We encourage participants to arrive by 8:30 AM.
14. Are registration contributions refundable? Because all proceeds benefit Bluegrass Community Action of Anderson County, registration contributions are nonrefundable.
15. Can I register on race morning? Yes, but registering ahead of time really helps us to plan! Please do your best to register by November 1st.

Preguntas frecuentes

1. ¿Qué pasa si no puedo pagar la cuota de inscripción o no quiero registrarme por internet? Todas las personas son bienvenidas en el Vamos Pavo 5K. Si el costo, la registración por internet o el pago con tarjeta de crédito dificultan que tú o tu familia puedan participar, pueden registrarse en persona el día del evento sin costo. No es necesario dar ninguna explicación, y no necesitan una tarjeta de crédito o débito.
2. ¿Tengo que correr? ¡Para nada! Las personas que prefieran caminar son bienvenidas, y tampoco es necesario completar los 5 kilómetros.
3. ¿Se cronometrará la carrera? Sí. Tendremos voluntarios registrando los tiempos, pero no utilizaremos chips de cronometraje.
4. ¿Habrá camisetas? Este año no, ¡pero esperamos poder ofrecerlas en el futuro!
5. ¿Pueden participar los niños? ¡Por supuesto! Los niños son bienvenidos a participar con sus familias.
6. ¿Puedo llevar a mi mascota? Debido al espacio limitado en la pista, las mascotas no podrán participar en el 5K. Sin embargo, ¡son bienvenidas a acompañarnos desde fuera de la pista para animar a los participantes!
7. ¿A dónde va el dinero de mi registro? Los fondos recaudados por el Vamos Pavo 5K beneficiarán a Bluegrass Community Action del condado de Anderson (https://www.bluegrasscommunityaction.org/) 
8. ¿Qué pasa si hace mal tiempo? El evento se llevará a cabo con lluvia o buen tiempo, a menos que las condiciones hagan que no sea seguro continuar. Cualquier actualización relacionada con el clima se compartirá con las personas registradas.
9. ¿Puedo participar con un cochecito/stroller para bebé? Sí. Los cochecitos son bienvenidos, pero pedimos a quienes participen con uno que tengan consideración por los demás y comiencen hacia la parte de atrás del grupo.
10. ¿Necesito tener experiencia corriendo? ¡Definitivamente no! Ya sea tu primer 5K o el número cincuenta, eres bienvenido.
11. ¿Habrá baños disponibles? Sí. Hay baños disponibles en Anderson Community Park. No instalaremos baños portátiles adicionales.
12. ¿Habrá agua disponible? Sí, pero recomendamos a todos los participantes a traer su propia botella de agua.
