Biwako Marathon 2027 (びわ湖マラソン2027)

The Biwako Marathon, now entering its fifth year and building upon the legacy of the traditional Biwa Lake Daily Marathon, offers runners an inviting course along the shores of scenic Lake Biwa. Known for its flat terrain that is conducive to achieving personal bests, this race boasts a high completion rate of 94.4%, making it suitable even for newcomers.
Participants can look forward to energizing support from enthusiastic volunteers and local residents throughout the route. The event also features unique aid stations offering traditional Shiga delicacies like roast beef made with famous Kamo beef, providing runners with an authentic taste of the region's culinary delights.
Recognized as one of Japan’s premier running events for three consecutive years by being selected among the top 100 races nationwide, the Biwako Marathon continues to attract athletes from across Japan and beyond. Race bibs are mailed out in advance, ensuring a smooth registration process.
Entry fees include:
- Individual marathon: ¥15,000 (inclusive of sports injury insurance)
- Pair relay marathon: ¥17,000 per team (two runners) (inclusive of sports injury insurance)
An additional entry fee of 6% is applied to the total amount for both categories. A charitable donation option is also available at ¥500 per participant.
