Bewl Water Spring

Set against the backdrop of Bewl Water Country Park, located at Lamberhurst in Kent's High Weald countryside, this race series offers runners an unforgettable experience along one of England’s largest reservoirs. The park spans over 1000 acres and provides a mix of wooded trails and quiet country lanes with stunning views of the water throughout.
The event features four distances: the ultra marathon (50km), marathon (26.2 miles), half marathon (13.1 miles), and a 10km race, each held bi-annually. All routes begin at Bewl Water Visitor Centre and follow a clockwise loop around the reservoir. The terrain is predominantly off-road with gentle undulations through lush forests and open fields.
The ultra marathon course covers two loops of approximately 24.8 miles followed by an additional final lap of about 6.5 miles, totaling just over 31 miles in length. Runners tackling this distance start at 8:30 am with a time limit of eight hours to complete the challenging route.
The marathon begins slightly later at 9:00 am and consists of two loops around Bewl Water after an initial out-and-back stretch, totaling just over 26 miles with a seven-hour and fifteen-minute cutoff.
For those looking for a shorter challenge, the half marathon starts at 9:30 am and includes one full loop around the reservoir following a short out-and-back segment of less than a mile, giving runners approximately six hours to finish.
The 10km race offers an accessible entry point into this scenic event. Starting promptly at 10:00 am, participants will run an out-and-back course with well-marked turnaround points and marshalling support throughout the route.
All distances are complemented by professional chip timing for accurate results, slate awards for top three male and female finishers in each race category, and bespoke medals unique to this event. Additional amenities include stocked checkpoints along the way, medical first aid services provided by KLP Medical Supplies Ltd., and photography opportunities captured by Gareth Parker Photography.
