As Keen As Mustard Grafham Water Swimrun Event

On June 27, 2027, Grafham Water hosts the annual Swimrun event, offering runners and swimmers an exhilarating journey around one of Cambridgeshire's most picturesque reservoirs. Participants can choose from three distances: a scenic 5k solo swimrun for newcomers, a challenging 10k solo race, or a full marathon-length 21k course available in both solo and team formats.
The event begins with athletes following the north shore of Grafham Water, swimming across natural bays and running through lush woodlands and along reservoir tracks. The shorter courses loop back to the finish line after exploring part of the shoreline, while the longer route continues for a full lap around the entire reservoir, offering breathtaking views at every turn.
Safety is paramount; all participants must attend a mandatory race briefing before their start time and adhere strictly to equipment requirements including wetsuits if necessary. The course features undulating terrain with off-road sections that include uneven ground, mud, and natural obstacles. Swimmers enter and exit the water only at designated points to minimize ecological impact.
Grafham Water Swimrun is a celebration of nature’s beauty combined with athletic prowess, inviting competitors from around the world to immerse themselves in this unique challenge.
Participants are encouraged to register early and familiarize themselves with all race rules available on the event website. The day promises an unforgettable blend of physical exertion and scenic splendor along Grafham Water's stunning shoreline.
