Alderton 5k Run

The Alderton 5k Run, now entering its 15th year, is an inviting and spirited race nestled within the charming village of Alderton, Gloucestershire. This annual event welcomes runners from all walks of life—from first-time joggers to seasoned athletes—and every participant can expect a memorable experience in this picturesque setting.
The course winds through quiet country lanes that offer stunning views of the surrounding countryside, passing by the hamlet of Great Washbourne and looping back towards Alderton Playing Field. The flat terrain makes it an ideal location for runners aiming to achieve personal bests or simply enjoying a leisurely run. With typical finish times ranging from 16 to 45 minutes, there's something enjoyable for everyone.
Upon arrival at Race HQ on Alderton Playing Field, participants can collect their race numbers and enjoy pre-race refreshments like tea, coffee, and cakes starting at 09:30 am. The start line is located just outside the Gardeners Arms pub along Beckford Road, where runners will be called to begin five minutes before the official start time.
Post-race amenities include complimentary medals for all finishers and a photo opportunity at the finish line, adding an extra touch of celebration to your accomplishment. Additionally, post-run massages are available on-site to help soothe tired muscles after the event.
The Alderton 5k Run is renowned for its inclusive atmosphere, welcoming under-16s runners accompanied by adults, dogs, and those using pushchairs or requiring assistance.
