With over 95% of runners supporting this initiative, the Shonan International Marathon sets a new standard for environmental responsibility within the running community. The full marathon course winds through picturesque landscapes in the heart of Shonan, offering participants scenic views and an enjoyable experience that goes beyond athletic competition. Whether you're tackling the challenging 42 kilometers or joining one of the shorter fun runs designed for all ages—10km races for adults and high school students, a kid-friendly 2km run, or even a family-oriented event—the Shonan International Marathon has something to offer everyone. Registration fees vary depending on the distance you choose. For those competing in the full marathon, it costs ¥16,500 (approximately $137 USD). The shorter fun runs are more affordable: ¥8,500 for adults and high school students running 10km; ¥5,500 for high school participants; ¥2,000 for the family-friendly 2km run; and a mere ¥1,000 for both the 1.4km walk-run event and those opting into the training program.
