2027 Sevier Valley Marathon and 10K

Immerse yourself in the scenic beauty of Central Utah's Sevier Valley for an unforgettable running experience. On June 5, 2027, runners will gather at Big Rock Candy Mountain to embark on a course that winds through historic Highway 89 and follows the Candy Mountain Express bike path. The route starts with a descent out of Marysvale canyon along the Sevier River, showcasing stunning geologic formations as it heads towards Richfield.
Participants begin their journey at an elevation of 5803 feet and finish near Cove View Golf Course in Richfield, where they will have descended to 5327 feet. The race is net downhill with a total elevation loss of 1232 feet and gains of only 754 feet. Runners can expect picturesque views along the Sevier River as well as through charming towns like Joseph and Elisinore.
The event starts at dawn, civil twilight beginning precisely at 5:30 am, offering runners ample light to enjoy the breathtaking scenery. With a strict time limit of six hours, competitors must maintain an average pace that allows them to cross the road in Elsinore by approximately 9:15 am to continue towards the finish line.
Race packets and bib numbers will be available for pickup at the Elks Lodge on June 4th from 7-9pm. Shuttle service will transport early registrants directly to the start, leaving from Richfield at 4:30am. Aid stations are well-placed along the route, providing essential hydration and snacks such as water, electrolyte drinks, bananas, oranges, fruit snacks, Clif Bloks, and GU.
This certified USATF course is eligible for Boston Marathon qualification without any time penalties due to its net downhill nature.
