The Endless Day Backyard Ultra invites runners to push their limits like never before, challenging participants to see how far they can go over an extended period. This unique ultra-distance race unfolds on June 19, 2027, offering a compelling blend of endurance and strategy.
Every 90 minutes, racers start a new loop around the course, each one measuring precisely 6.55 miles. The format allows for flexibility: runners can opt to complete just one lap or continue pushing through multiple cycles up to an impressive 12 hours. Milestone achievements are celebrated with special recognition:
- 1 Lap: A completion of 90 minutes earns you a 10K medal.
- 2 Laps: Three hours on the clock grants a half-marathon milestone.
- 4 Laps: Six hours in, participants earn their marathon award.
- 5 Laps: Seven and a half hours leads to a 50K distinction.
- 8 Laps: Twelve hours of running secures a badge for covering approximately 50 miles.
- 15 Laps: The ultimate challenge: surpassing the 100-mile mark.
Registration fees vary based on your intended distance, encouraging both casual runners and serious endurance athletes to participate. For those aiming at shorter distances (up to six laps), entry costs $65 if registered before June 1; otherwise, it's $85. The more ambitious racers planning for seven or more laps will pay $90 early registration ($110 after the deadline).
The race unfolds along flat dirt roads and through expansive farm fields in Central Utah, providing a scenic backdrop of vast skies and stunning views of the Pahvant Range and Red Hills. As you circle back to familiar terrain repeatedly, each lap becomes increasingly intimate with the course.
Participants must be prepared for hot, dry weather conditions common during June in this part of Utah. The race route includes just three city blocks from Nielson Family Park into farm roads, but aid stations are plentiful. A full spread awaits at both the start/finish park and halfway along each loop, supplemented by self-serve coolers to help runners stay hydrated.
Nielson Family Park offers ample space for setting up personal base camps—perfect for those planning a marathon effort or beyond. The Northern Pavilion area will be cordoned off as a central hub where racers can refuel and rest between laps.
