2027 East Lancashire Hospice 10k and 2k Race

Running enthusiasts and community supporters are invited to participate in the East Lancashire Hospice 10k and 2k race on Sunday, January 17, 2027. This annual charity run is organized by The Vella Group, a dedicated team of hospice supporters based in Great Harwood, Lancashire.
The event takes place at The Vella Group’s headquarters located at Gaskell Court, Alan Ramsbottom Way, BB6 7UF. It promises to be an inspiring day filled with camaraderie and the spirit of giving back to the community. Participants will gather early for a morning full of activities leading up to the race start.
The main event kicks off at 11:00 AM with the 10k run, followed closely by the family-friendly 2k fun run starting at 11:05 AM. Both races are designed to cater to runners of all abilities and ages, offering a scenic route that showcases parts of Great Harwood.
Each participant in the 10k race will receive an event merchandise item along with a finisher's medal upon completion. For those taking part in the shorter 2k run, medals and goodie bags await at the finish line. Race numbers and any additional items can be collected from designated areas on site starting at 9:30 AM.
Safety is paramount during this event. To ensure everyone’s well-being, participants are reminded not to use earphones or similar devices that could impair their awareness of surroundings such as traffic noise, other runners, or marshals' instructions. Disqualification may occur if these guidelines are ignored.
