2027 Bank of America Chicago Marathon ACS Team DetermiNation Reservation System

OUR RESERVATION SYSTEM WILL OPEN ON THURSDAY, OCTOBER 8.

Please note: we will be out of the office supporting our 2026 Bank of America Chicago Marathon DetermiNation team through Sunday, October 11 and will follow up with anyone who registers on Monday, October 12. 

Join Our Team

Claim your guaranteed entry starting Thursday, October 8, 2026 with Team DetermiNation for the 2027 Bank of America Chicago Marathon at the fundraising minimum of your choice. Once you reserve your spot with Team DetermiNation, your ACS staff partner will reach out after October 12 within one business day to provide instructions on how to formally register for the marathon itself and how to create your fundraising page through GivenGain. Thank you for your patience as we anticipate a high volume of interest. 

Participation Options

Charity Entry: Claim your guaranteed entry through ACS and agree to raise $2620 ($100/mile) by September 29, 2027. You are responsible for paying the marathon entry fee ($325 + processing fee). *Once our team is sold out, we will begin a wait list and the fundraising minimum will INCREASE from $2620 to $3000. 

FREE Charity Entry: Claim your FREE guaranteed entry through ACS and agree to raise $5000 by September 29, 2027. ACS will pay the marathon entry fee on your behalf. 

NOTE: If you join our team while the public drawing is open, you are agreeing to BYPASS the drawing and claim your guaranteed entry immediately through the American Cancer Society's Team DetermiNation. You may NOT enter the drawing AND reserve a spot on Team DetermiNation - it is one or the other. We anticipate our team will sell out on or before the day public drawing results are announced in December, so please keep this timeframe in mind. Once our team is sold out, we will start a wait list and the fundraising minimum will increase.  

Fundraising Minimum Deadline

All participants must reach their fundraising minimum by Wednesday, September 29, 2027. If you have not reached your minimum by Wednesday, September 29, your credit card will be charged whatever is owed to reach your minimum on Thursday, September 30, 2027. You may continue to fundraise after the minimum deadline and through the entire month of October. If you are charged on September 30 and then receive additional donations, you may request a refund from your ACS staff partner on Friday, October 29, 2027. 

Team Amenities

• Guaranteed entry to the 2027 Chicago Marathon
  • You pay the marathon entry fee ($325 + processing fee) if you choose the lower $2620 / $100 per mile fundraising minimum
  • ACS will pay the marathon entry fee on your behalf if you choose the higher $5000 fundraising minimum 
• In-person Group Marathon training with either Chicago Area Runners' Association (CARA) or Fleet Feet Training for those local to Chicagoland OR virtual marathon training through the Endorphins Running app
  • Registration for marathon training will open in March 2027
  • You will be eligible to register for marathon training once have you have raised $300+ towards your fundraising minimum
• Official Team DetermiNation running t-shirt or tank
  • Team shirts / tanks will be shipped starting in April 2027
  • You will be eligible to receive your shirt or tank once you have raised $300+ towards your fundraising minimum
• Race Weekend Amenities
  • Team Dinner on Friday, October 8
  • Private Race Day Space at the Palmer House Hilton on Sunday, October 10 featuring:
    • Private Gear Check
    • Light pre-race breakfast
    • Indoor restrooms
    • Corral Escorts for each wave
    • Post-race party with buffet
    • Recovery lounge including compression boot stations and professional stretching/massage provided by Illinois Bone & Joint Institute 

PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING: 

• Per the Bank of America Chicago Marathon Event Rules, Charity guaranteed entries cannot be deferred, transferred, or sold. If you are unable to participate in the event for any reason other than pregnancy, you will forfeit your entry. 
• Registering for the 2027 Bank of America Chicago Marathon is a separate step from reserving your spot on Team DetermiNation through this website. Your ACS staff partner will reach out to you within 1 business day of you reserving your spot on this website with instructions on how to complete your formal marathon registration. You must complete your formal race registration within one week of joining the team, and no later than Wednesday, July 14, 2027, whichever is earlier, or you risk losing your spot on Team DetermiNation.
• If you select the $2,620 fundraising minimum, the marathon entry fee for the 2027 Bank of America Chicago Marathon is separate from and in additional to the $2,620 fundraising minimum. You are responsible for paying the marathon entry fee ($325 + processing fee). Once you have completed your formal race registration and paid the marathon entry fee, you may NOT switch to the higher minimum in which ACS covers the marathon entry fee. 
• If you select the $5,000 fundraising minimum, the American Cancer Society will cover the marathon entry fee on your behalf. Once ACS has covered this fee for you, you may NOT drop down to a lower fundraising minimum.
• All participants are responsible for fulfilling their fundraising minimum regardless of injury or personal decision to not participate in the race.
• Any donations you receive in connection with our 2027 Bank of America Chicago Marathon DetermiNation Team are applicable only to the 2027 Chicago Marathon event. Funds raised cannot be rolled over to a future year or to a different DetermiNation event.
