Back of the Yards 5K Turkey Run

The race begins at the iconic Union Stockyards Gate on 41st Street & Halstead Avenue, where you’ll embark on an energizing journey through the Stockyard Industrial Park and surrounding areas. This scenic route offers glimpses of industrial heritage mixed with modern-day charm, making it both a cultural and physical adventure for runners and walkers alike.
Race participants will receive a timed bib to track their progress throughout the course. Upon crossing the finish line, everyone is invited to indulge in post-race treats that include coffee, champurrado (a traditional Mexican hot chocolate drink), tamales, and pan dulce – all perfect for warming up after your run or walk.

Participants who registered before Friday, October 30, will receive a commemorative race t-shirt along with their other items, but those registering after that date won't have a shirt included in their packet. However, there’s no shortage of reasons to lace up and join the festivities!
