About the Event

Dive into the legendary waters of San Francisco Bay and retrace the daring journey made famous by the Anglin Brothers and Frank Lee Morris. On September 25, 2027, you will have the unique opportunity to embark on a historic swim from Alcatraz Island—an escape route that has captivated imagination for decades.
This challenging open-water event is not just any ordinary swim; it's an invitation to test your limits in one of America’s most iconic settings. The cold and unpredictable waters surrounding Alcatraz are treacherous, making this experience reserved exclusively for seasoned swimmers who can confidently cover a mile in under 40 minutes.
Participants will set off from the historic island prison and navigate through the bay's currents towards freedom—a symbolic journey that echoes the legendary escape of Morris and his fellow inmates. The race is meticulously limited to ensure safety and preserve the integrity of this special event, with spots filling up months before each edition.
Prepare yourself for an unforgettable experience where history meets adventure in the heart of San Francisco Bay.
