Art O Neill Pursuit 2027
About the event
The AON Pursuit invites runners to retrace the footsteps of Irish history on January 15, 2027. This 25km road race begins at Dublin Castle and culminates at Kippure Estate in County Wicklow. Participants will traverse through scenic landscapes as they follow the dramatic escape route taken by Art O'Neill, his brother Henry, and Red Hugh O'Donnell from Dublin Castle back in 1592. The event not only celebrates a significant historical moment but also supports the vital work of the Dublin & Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team.
Runners will experience a blend of urban and rural terrain, with challenging climbs that mirror the adventurers' perilous journey through rugged Irish countryside. This race is more than just a run; it's an immersive exploration into Ireland’s rich past, offering participants a unique opportunity to connect with history while supporting a worthy cause.
