Celebrate the seventh anniversary of Zig Zag Running with an epic endurance challenge at Brandon Country Park, nestled deep within Thetford Forest’s serene landscape. Participants can choose between two start times—9 AM or 11 AM—to embark on a multi-terrain journey through this picturesque setting. The course features a 5.3-kilometer lap that winds through the forest's gravel paths and grassy areas, offering runners an opportunity to explore diverse terrain under the canopy of trees. Whether you're aiming for your first official marathon distance or pushing yourself beyond with ultra-marathon aspirations, this event provides flexibility in pace and duration. With a 6-hour window from start time (or up until 5:59 PM if starting at 11 AM), runners have ample opportunity to rack up miles. The aid station located near the base camp ensures that hydration and energy needs are met with ease during each lap, allowing participants to rest or refuel as needed. Event day logistics include a dedicated parking area managed by marshals who will guide you upon arrival. Registration is straightforward at the Race HQ/Base Camp where bib numbers are distributed along with essential race information. A baggage drop-off point is available but please note that items left here should not contain valuables, and it's advisable to carry any essentials on your person or in your running gear. For those who can't make it to Brandon Country Park in person, virtual participation options allow you to earn a finisher medal from the comfort of home. The event’s bespoke medal is awarded upon completion for all participants who cross the line within the designated timeframe. Brandon Country Park's convenient location makes it accessible from several major towns and cities including Bury St Edmunds (less than 30 minutes away), Norwich, Cambridge, and Ipswich—all under an hour's drive. For those traveling by train, Brandon Railway Station is a short distance of just over one mile away.
