Bramham Park Duathlons and Trail Runs
Nestled within the tranquil setting of Bramham Park, located between Leeds and Wetherby, this year's Yorkshire Duathlons offer an inviting atmosphere for both newcomers and experienced multisport enthusiasts. The park’s expansive 1,200 acres of woodland and miles of trail paths provide a picturesque backdrop for runners and cyclists alike.
The event features two duathlon options: the Sprint (Short) Duathlon with distances totaling 31.5km and the Standard Duathlon covering an extended route of approximately 63km. Participants can choose between running and cycling along well-marked trails through serene woodlands and quiet country lanes, ensuring a scenic journey for all competitors.
In addition to duathlons, Bramham Park also hosts standalone trail runs including 5km, 10km, and Half Marathon events that cater to various fitness levels. Each run follows meticulously planned routes designed to showcase the park’s natural beauty while providing challenging yet enjoyable courses.
Transition areas are securely designated for participants only, ensuring a smooth start and finish experience. Competitors will rack their bikes according to race numbers provided upon registration. The transition area allows small bags or boxes but requires that bike numbers be clearly visible along with helmets before entering the cycling portion of the event.
Race timing is handled by Timing Up North using live chip technology for accurate results. All finishers are rewarded with an exclusive event medal, a commemorative Wild Deer merchandise item, and refreshments including snacks and drinks to celebrate their achievements.
Participants have the option to purchase a unique event t-shirt available at just £14 when signing up. On-site parking is provided but comes with a fee of £4 per vehicle; car-sharing is encouraged for environmental benefits.
