On November 7, 2026, the charming city of Gatchina will host its annual traditional children's races at the Universal Sports Hall within the Volna Swimming Pool. This beloved event invites future champions to participate in a unique relay race format with distances divided into four segments of 10 meters each.
The competition is meticulously organized for different age groups:
- Four-year-olds start registration and their run at 10:00, followed by five-year-olds at 11:00.
- Six-year-old participants begin at noon, while seven and eight-year-olds follow with a sign-up time of 13:00.
- Nine and ten-year-olds are scheduled to register from 14:30 onwards.
Each age group is limited to thirty boys and girls for an intimate racing experience that ensures every child receives the attention they deserve on race day. The venue's warm atmosphere fosters a supportive environment where parents can cheer their little racers on, provided they switch into appropriate footwear upon entry or use balcony viewing areas if only wearing slippers.
Participants will receive a diploma, mini-chocolate with Gatchina Half Marathon branding, and commemorative pins as part of the registration fee. Additionally, race sponsors offer prizes to all participants, and medals are awarded to the top three finishers in each age category following their respective races.
The event promises an engaging day filled with fun activities for young athletes, culminating in a rewarding celebration that recognizes every child's effort and dedication on this special November morning in Gatchina.
