Worsley Woods 5 Mile Trail Race

Set against the backdrop of Worsley, Manchester on Sunday, September 27th, 2026, the Trail Race promises an exhilarating journey through diverse landscapes and challenging terrains. The race is organized by Swinton Running Club and takes place at Beesley Green Community Centre in Greenleach Lane.
Participants can register for the event between 7:30 am and 8:30 am on the day of the race, with entries available up to a limit of 400 runners. The community center serves as both the registration point and the hub for all pre-race activities, ensuring that everything is conveniently located in one spot.
The starting line is situated at Roe Green Loopline, approximately a five-minute walk north from Beesley Green Community Centre along Greenleach Lane. Here, racers will embark on an adventure through varied trails and scenic routes designed to challenge both the mind and body of every runner. The finish line returns runners back to their point of origin, creating a loop that allows for easy navigation.
For those traveling by car, limited parking is available at Beesley Green Community Centre, but participants are encouraged to share rides or park along nearby Greenleach Lane where additional spaces can be found. Public transportation options include bus services 20, V1, and V2, which connect directly to the race venue from various points in Greater Manchester.
The course is meticulously designed with mile markers placed at strategic intervals to help runners monitor their progress throughout the event. First aid stations are strategically located along the route for added safety and peace of mind. Participants can also enjoy complimentary drinks and toilet facilities provided by Swinton Running Club, ensuring that all basic needs are met during the race.
In recognition of athletic excellence, prizes will be awarded to the first three male and female finishers overall as well as top performers in veteran categories. Team awards for both men's and women's teams (with four runners counting towards their total) complete the list of accolades up for grabs on this special day. However, it is important to note that only those identifying clearly as either male or female are eligible for individual prize consideration.
The event concludes with a celebratory presentation ceremony at Beesley Green Community Centre where winners will be recognized and awarded in front of their peers and supporters.
