### Event Overview:
The WinterRock 25K on January 2nd, 2027, marks the beginning of a challenging trail series that tests endurance and resilience. This event is part of the FlatRock Triple Crown Series, which also includes the FlatRock101K (April 17th) and the FlatRock 50K (September 25th). Completing all three races will earn you an exclusive award celebrating your achievement.
### Course Description:
The WinterRock course is a technical single-track trail along the Elk River Hiking Trail, winding through limestone bluffs and picturesque rock formations. The terrain features steep ascents and descents, making it both challenging and rewarding for runners who love natural beauty and adventure.
### Race Details:
- Start Time: 11:00 AM
- Cutoff Time: 4:00 PM
The race begins at the Outlet Channel Shelter with a short pre-race briefing starting at 10:50 AM. Aid stations are unmanned, providing only water every few miles without cups; runners must carry their own handheld bottles.
### Packet Pickup:
Packet pickup is available from 10:00 to 10:50 AM on race day at the Outlet Channel Group Shelter near Elk City Lake Dam. Detailed maps and directions can be found online or provided upon request.
### Volunteer Opportunities:
Volunteers are essential for these events, contributing to a smooth-running experience for all participants. In return, volunteers receive a t-shirt and discounts on future races based on their hours of service.

### Race Policies:
- Deferral/Transfer Credit: If you're unable to attend, race credits can be transferred to another event with no refunds. Credits are valid for one year from the original date.
