Weekend at Burney

Immerse yourself in the enchanting trails of Baum Lake during the Weekend at Burney Run/Walk/Crawl on October 21-23, 2027. This laid-back yet exhilarating event offers runners and walkers a stunning 4.8-mile looped course through private property near Baum Lake. The trail features a perfect blend of flowy single-track paths and dirt service roads with rolling hills and wooded sections, providing approximately 370 feet of elevation gain per lap for an engaging challenge.
Participants can enjoy vibrant fall foliage and diverse wildlife as they circle Baum Lake on each loop, while night runners will be treated to starlit skies. The event offers various race options including a 48-hour challenge starting Thursday at 6:00 PM, a 24-hour adventure beginning Friday evening, and shorter 12-hour or single-loop events scheduled for Saturday morning.
The aid station serves as the start/finish hub, offering snacks, soda, water, electrolytes, hot made-to-order food, and even a cozy broth bar to keep you fueled throughout your run. For those who sign up before October 1st, race swag includes T-shirts, buffs, and an additional belt buckle for solo runners completing over 100 miles or achieving the feat in under 24 hours.
Don't miss out on the unique burro race where participants can bring their own donkeys. Race responsibly with your four-legged companion by adhering to humane treatment guidelines and ensuring they carry a pack saddle equipped with essential tools like a shovel, pick, and pan. Burros must be led but not carried, adding an extra layer of fun and challenge.
