VA Winter Track Series

Immerse yourself in the vibrant atmosphere of Sandown as the Vectis Academy Winter Track Series returns for its 2026/27 edition, bringing five consecutive Tuesday evenings filled with racing and camaraderie. Organized by Wild Isle Events, this series offers a unique blend of traditional track events alongside innovative challenges designed to keep runners engaged through winter.
The second night on November 24, 2026, features a 3K race paired with the Metronome 1600 challenge, where consistency over four laps is just as crucial as outright speed. Runners can also take part in multiple attempts at setting their fastest 400m times during the Flying 400's Speed Challenge.
The series welcomes runners of all ages and abilities through age-graded scoring, ensuring fair competition across different categories while still recognizing personal bests and finishing positions. Each event is professionally timed with chip technology, providing immediate online results to keep participants informed about their progress throughout the winter months.
With no additional entry fee beyond the regular Vectis Academy track session cost, this series invites everyone from seasoned racers to newcomers looking for a fun challenge. Join your fellow runners at Sandown and experience an evening of friendly competition and shared goals as you navigate through cold Tuesday nights with purpose and spirit.
The five-night event promises not only racing but also a sense of community, making the chilly winter evenings feel warmer with every lap completed.
