Embark on an extraordinary journey through the undulating hills of Tuscany with the Tuscany Crossing Run & Walk. This event offers runners and walkers distances ranging from 160 km, 103 km, 53 km, to a more accessible 15 km, each course weaving through some of Italy's most breathtaking landscapes. The Val d'Orcia, renowned for its ever-changing vistas and seemingly gentle yet challenging terrain, serves as the perfect setting. As you traverse this historic region, imagine yourself in the footsteps of ancient wayfarers and pilgrims who have walked these paths over centuries. The route takes inspiration from the great Roman roads that once connected Rome to distant lands beyond the Alps, including the Cassia, Francigena, and Romea. These routes were not only vital for trade but also bore witness to the journeys of illustrious figures such as Sigeric, Archbishop of Canterbury, alongside warriors, saints, and even brigands. The landscape is dotted with medieval fortifications, castles, and parish churches that stand testament to this rich history. As you run or walk through Tuscany's rolling hills, each step will feel like a connection to the past, offering not just physical challenge but also an immersive cultural experience. This event celebrates both the endurance of runners and walkers while honouring the timeless beauty and historical significance of one of Italy’s most cherished regions. The Tuscany Crossing Run & Walk invites you to explore these storied lands at your own pace, whether covering a longer distance or enjoying a shorter trek, each mile is an opportunity to embrace the spirit of those who have journeyed through this land for generations.
