TRAIL CANOPEE

Experience the thrill of TRAIL CANOPEE, Guyana’s longest official canopy trail race, set for December 5, 2026. This is your chance to conquer two exciting distances: 16.5 km and a more challenging 26.5 km route reserved for experienced runners.
The event kicks off at PK21 on the Saramaca road by 6 AM sharp. Participants will receive their race numbers, gear checks, and essential safety briefings before boarding pirogues to embark on an adventure through Guyana's lush rainforest.
For those venturing the longer distance of 26.5 km, you'll traverse a breathtaking landscape with over 1400 meters of elevation gain. The first half is challenging as you navigate through flooded zones and dense root-filled areas. As you progress towards the camp Canopée, more than 30 peaks will test your endurance between 70 to 260 meters in altitude.
The 16.5 km route offers a shorter but equally exhilarating journey with its own set of obstacles and scenic views. Both routes promise stunning canopies above and an immersive experience through Guyana’s natural beauty, including the refreshing Kourou river for those who need a break from the heat.
Register now as spots are limited to 100 participants each distance, closing on November 30 at 8 AM. The event fee of €70 includes breakfast, lunch, and transportation by pirogues back to base camp post-race. For an enhanced experience, choose the Canopée weekend package for a total cost of €266.
As you prepare, remember your essentials: two liters of water, front lights, trail shoes, survival kits with waterproof covers and whistles, and warm clothing for the change in temperature. The race organizers ensure safety with medical checks at key points and dedicated personnel to guide runners through challenging sections.
