Step into the heart of Towamencin for an unforgettable family-friendly run that combines tradition with community spirit. The Towamencin Turkey Trot invites runners and walkers alike to join in a festive celebration that supports local initiatives and brings everyone together.
This year's event features several exciting additions:
- A certified 5K course complete with chip timing.
- Free shirts for early registrants who sign up by October 13th, ensuring you have your race attire well before the big day.
- Medals awarded to the top three finishers in each age group and special prizes for both male and female overall winners.
The event is not just about racing; it's a community gathering that includes fun activities like the Kids' Fun Run. Starting at 8:00 AM, children aged 10 and under can participate in their own dash with distances tailored to different age groups:
- For kids aged 1-5 years old: A 50-yard dash
- Ages 6-8: One-quarter mile run
- Ages 9-10: Half a mile
Registration for the main event opens early, allowing you to secure your spot and shirt at discounted rates. Early bird pricing starts on August 1st ($35) with fees increasing as we approach race day:
- $40 from October 14th
- $45 in the final week leading up to November 9th
Pre-race pick-up is available for those who prefer to collect their bib and shirt ahead of time. Visit the Township Building on Wednesday, November 11th between 10 AM–12 PM or 4 PM–7 PM.
The day's activities kick off at 7:30 AM with a chance to grab your race materials before the event begins. The Kids' Fun Run starts promptly at 8:00 AM followed by the main 5K run at 9:00 AM. Don't miss out on the awards ceremony, which takes place immediately after the race in the Arneth Amphitheater.
