5-Mile Beach at Wildwood Crest: Half Marathon, 10K and 5K

Rise early to catch the golden hour on race day in Wildwood Crest. The sun will paint the sky a vibrant orange as it rises over the Boardwalk, casting long shadows across the picturesque beachfront. This event is part of an exciting new Half Marathon series and promises runners from all distances a memorable experience.
The course begins at Rambler Park where you can grab your bib number and gear before heading out onto the half marathon path. The 13.1-mile route winds through the historic boardwalk, offering stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean as it stretches into the distance. For those looking for less than a full marathon but still wanting to test their endurance, there's also a 5K run and a 6.2-mile race.
History has its roots in this small New Jersey town; Wildwood Crest is known for its vibrant community spirit that permeates every event here. The half marathon alone attracts hundreds of participants each year, making it one of the most anticipated races on the calendar. This year's edition promises to be no exception with an expected turnout similar to past years.
The course itself will feature a mix of firm and slightly soft terrain suitable for runners at all skill levels. Expect some slight elevation changes as you traverse the beachfront and boardwalk, which offer both challenges and scenic vistas along the way. There are several aid stations strategically placed throughout the route where volunteers will be on hand to provide water, snacks, and encouragement.
On race day, expect temperatures ranging from 7°C to a high of just over 13°C with an average wind speed around 17 km/h. Humidity levels will be moderate at 68%, but sunshine is expected throughout the morning hours, making for ideal running conditions. There may also be some light rainfall (about 0.2 inches), so it's wise to check the forecast closer to race day and prepare accordingly.

The race starts at Sunrise at Rambler Park. Participants must adhere to age requirements as specified by the organizers; first-time half marathon runners are encouraged but not required to arrive one hour early for an early start time. First-timers and those new to the area should familiarize themselves with the course beforehand or reach out via email.
