The Round Res

The Round Res is an exciting relay race that takes place around the scenic Scammonden Water, located northwest of Huddersfield. Teams consisting of three runners will navigate this picturesque reservoir on June 9, 2027.
Each team must include at least one women's or men's trio and can enter multiple teams if desired. The challenge involves strategic selection from various club members to ensure a mix of abilities rather than just the fastest runners. Runner 1 embarks on a solo journey covering 15 kilometers before handing off to Runner 2, who runs 10 kilometers alone. Finally, all three team members complete the last lap together for an exhilarating finish.
Registration opens at 17:30 and closes at 19:00 with teams needing their first runner on the start line by 18:25. The race begins promptly at 18:30, allowing ample time to enjoy the scenic route around Scammonden Water before hitting the trails.
A unique feature of this event is live GPS tracking for each team, providing both safety and entertainment as spectators can follow the progress from a dedicated 'Tracking Station' during the race. Race batons will be distributed at registration, ensuring seamless transitions between runners.
Participants are encouraged to order pizza ahead or on-site during registration. The finish line area welcomes all teams with 11-inch thin and crispy pizzas starting at 19:30 onwards. A variety of vegetarian options is available for those who prefer plant-based meals.
The event offers a competitive edge, as the first team overall receives a trophy, provided last year's winners return it on time. The cost to enter early bird registration is £33 per team with no entry allowed on race day and space limited to 45 teams in total.
