On June 5, 2027, runners from around the globe will gather at Beacon Hill Country Park for an unprecedented challenge: the inaugural solo Round 100. This unique trail ultra follows the historic and waymarked route of the Leicestershire Round—a complete circumnavigation of the county through its rolling hills, ancient trails, farmland, woodlands, country lanes, and riverside paths.
The Round 100 is not just a race; it's an opportunity to become part of history. As you traverse this scenic terrain over two days, from Saturday morning until Sunday afternoon, you'll experience the diverse landscapes that make Leicestershire so beloved by outdoor enthusiasts. For those who prefer to share their journey with teammates, relay options are available for teams of four. Each member must cover at least 20 miles individually before the team can claim its finisher's medal. Relay changeovers strictly take place only at designated checkpoints in accordance with Beacon Race Events guidelines.
The race is fully supported by nine stocked checkpoints offering essential supplies such as food, drinks, medical support, and live GPS tracking updates for both participants and spectators alike. The event also includes free photography services to capture your journey across this historic course.
In addition to the personal challenge of completing 100 miles over varied terrain, runners will contribute to a worthy cause by partnering with LOROS Hospice—a local charity providing vital care and support to terminally ill patients and their families. Participants can secure discounted entry fees in exchange for committing to a fundraising pledge.
