The Moonlight Trail

The Moonlight Trail, organized by Essex Trail Events and sanctioned with TRA Race Licence 8899, invites runners to explore the night under the guidance of their head torches on Wednesday, November 18th. Starting at The Wheatsheaf in Hatfield Peverel from 5:30 PM, this self-navigated trail race spans a challenging 6 miles through unmarked terrain with no marshals or GPX support.
Participants must carry a mobile phone and be prepared for an adventure that tests their navigation skills. A written route description will guide runners along the course, timed out-and-back to The Wheatsheaf finish line. This event welcomes both runners and walkers aged 16 and over, offering a unique opportunity to experience Essex's landscapes under moonlight.
Entry fees are £15 for affiliated members and £17 for unaffiliated participants (with an additional booking fee of 50p if registering online). Each entry comes with a choice of post-race food options: meat lasagne, meat chilli, or veggie chilli. Detailed instructions on how to book multiple entries for friends are available on the Essex Trail Events website.
Results will be posted at www.essextrailevents.com after the race concludes. For more information and to register in advance, visit their site before the deadline.
