Immerse yourself in the serene beauty of The River Thames with our Meerkat Meander, set to take place on Saturday, February 27th, 2027. This unique race is designed for runners and walkers alike who wish to enjoy the picturesque surroundings while setting their own pace. The event kicks off at 9am from The Last Hop in Staines, offering participants a flexible experience with no strict finish time—simply aim to complete as much or as little of the course as you desire within the seven-hour window. Distances range from just 3km for those looking for a shorter jaunt to a full marathon and beyond. The route winds along well-maintained paths and tarmac, providing scenic views of The River Thames while ensuring comfortable running conditions year-round. For younger participants or those adhering strictly to UK Athletics distance rules, there are designated turn points at 3km and 5km intervals within the lap. All finishers will receive a specially themed medal commemorating their achievement, with additional pins available for distances such as half-marathon, marathon, ultra, and 50km. Vegan runners can also opt for a tailored goody bag upon registration to enjoy post-race treats that align with dietary preferences. The Last Hop serves as the event hub, offering amenities like toilets on-site from early morning onwards. Parking is conveniently located in Bridge Street Car Park nearby. Participants are reminded to be mindful of other path users and can use headphones during their run if desired. Registration discounts are available for members, who also receive a mini-me medal pin at each event attended.
