The Emu Endure

Embrace the beauty and tranquility of The River Thames with our 7-hour Time Challenge, an exhilarating run that invites participants to explore one of Britain's most iconic waterways. Lace up your shoes for this unique opportunity to traverse a picturesque course along the historic riverfront in Staines.
The event welcomes runners of all abilities, from casual walkers to seasoned athletes, offering flexibility and freedom over distance. Competitors can choose their own pace and route within a 7-hour window, setting personal goals or simply enjoying the scenic views. The minimum requirement is just 3 kilometers, while ambitious participants aiming for half-marathons (13.1 miles), marathons (26.2 miles), ultra distances, or even the challenging 50km mark are also encouraged to take part.
The course itself winds through a mix of well-maintained paths and tarmac surfaces, with just a brief stretch over grassy terrain that is suitable for standard running shoes year-round. The route features clear signage throughout, ensuring navigational ease without requiring any special skills or equipment.
Upon completing the minimum 3km distance, every participant will receive an exclusive emu-themed medal as recognition of their achievement. For those who push themselves further and complete half-marathon distances (or more), additional pins are available to commemorate milestones such as Mega-Half, Marathon, Ultra, and 50km achievements.
Race day amenities include a well-stocked aid table at the start/finish line where runners can refuel with an array of drinks and snacks. Vegan options are also provided for dietary preferences. Additionally, finishers will be rewarded with goody bags filled with treats to celebrate their accomplishment.
Participants looking to mark special milestones in their running journey—like reaching 50th or 100th marathons—are invited to inform the organizers ahead of time and can receive personalized number plates on race day.
The event is licensed by the Trail Running Association under UK Athletics rules, offering a safe and regulated environment for runners. Members of affiliated clubs will also benefit from discounted entry fees as part of this partnership.
On-site facilities at The Last Hop include accessible toilets but no dedicated changing rooms or showers; however, ample space within the bathroom area allows for on-the-spot changes if needed. Parking is available nearby in Bridge Street Car Park (TW18 4TP).
Race day instructions and number pick-up details will be communicated via email prior to March 6th, ensuring all participants are well-prepared for their journey along The River Thames.
