About the Event

Dive into the picturesque landscapes of Scarborough with The East Coast Chuffer, scheduled for October 4th, 2026. This trail running adventure is licensed under UKA rules by the Trail Running Association and offers runners an unforgettable journey along the historic Cinder Track.
Participants can park in various council car parks around Peasholm Park or on the front at Scarborough, though be aware that parking fees may apply. Registration begins promptly at 7:30 AM W3W unions.awards.lists where you'll collect your bibs and prepare for an exciting day ahead.
The event features a range of distances to suit all levels of runners:
- A scenic 5K run starting at 8:30 AM
- The slightly longer 10K race kicking off at 9:00 AM
- An invigorating Half Marathon setting off at 10:00 AM
- Two challenging options for the more experienced runner – a gruelling 20 Mile run starting alongside the half marathon, and a full Marathon also beginning early in the morning.
The route follows an old railway line that winds through coastal views and woodland stretches. This historic path offers runners the unique opportunity to experience the nostalgia of rail travel while enjoying stunning natural scenery. Water stations are strategically placed every 3 miles along the course, ensuring you stay hydrated throughout your journey.
Upon crossing the finish line, all participants will receive a coveted Grim Bling medal – an emblem of achievement and camaraderie from The East Coast Chuffer team.
With limited spots available, this race is sure to fill up quickly. Secure your place now for what promises to be one of the most memorable running experiences along England's beautiful east coast.
