The 2026 Tholthorpe 10k

Tholthorpe, nestled in the heart of North Yorkshire, is set to host its annual Tholthorpe 10k on Sunday, September 6, 2026. This long-standing race marks a significant milestone as it celebrates its 30th year, having grown from a small local event into an integral part of many runners' schedules.
The race begins and concludes alongside the picturesque village pond, offering participants stunning views of Tholthorpe's charming landscape. The route winds through quiet country roads that showcase North Yorkshire’s serene beauty, providing a flat yet engaging course suitable for all levels of runner—whether you're a seasoned competitor or just starting out. Over the years, this race has become a beloved tradition among local running clubs and individual athletes alike.
With a cut-off time of 90 minutes, runners are encouraged to enjoy the scenic route at their own pace while taking in the tranquil surroundings. Spectators can also participate by cheering on friends and family from the sidelines; post-race refreshments such as homemade cakes and sandwiches will be available in the newly renovated village hall along with hot beverages.
Prize-giving ceremonies take place around 12:30 pm at The Village Green, where runners gather to celebrate their achievements. This year’s event is particularly special for those aiming to break records; a £150 prize awaits anyone who can surpass the current male record of 30 minutes and 24 seconds set by Darren Bilton in 2005 or the female record of 35 minutes and 24 seconds established by Fay Banks in 2017.
In line with UK Athletics regulations, participants must adhere to rules regarding earphones (now banned) and equipment such as wheelchairs and buggies. All proceeds from this year’s race will support ongoing renovations at Tholthorpe Village Hall, ensuring the community continues to thrive thanks to your participation.
Should unforeseen circumstances lead to cancellation, entries may be transferred to a future event but refunds cannot be provided due to financial commitments associated with organizing such an occasion.
