Situated along West Street, this charming village hall serves as both the starting and finishing point for adventurers looking to challenge themselves on an idyllic rural route.
The event begins promptly at 8:30 AM, offering participants nine hours to complete the course. A critical checkpoint is set at 16.2 miles, with a cut-off time of 3 PM. Anyone not reaching this mark by then will be asked to withdraw from the race for safety reasons and to maintain harmony with local farmers who share their land.
Entry is limited to just 200 participants, providing an intimate experience that ensures everyone gets the attention they need. Early registration guarantees a spot at £17 for LDWA members or £25 for non-members; walk-up entries on race day are subject to availability and cost more due to additional administrative expenses.
Given the rural setting of Gargrave Village Hall, car parking space is limited. To minimize traffic congestion and environmental impact, organizers encourage participants to share rides with fellow competitors. Additional parking can be found along Mark House Lane, a short walk from the village hall across the canal bridge.
Throughout the route, marshals are stationed at various points to guide runners through the scenic countryside dotted with livestock. Their presence ensures that everyone stays on track and respects local guidelines regarding farm animals in the area.
