The Dirt Dash

Step into the heart of Johns Island for the Dirt Dash, an exhilarating trail running adventure presented by Palmetto Ultras and sponsored by The Foot Store. This scenic event offers runners a unique blend of natural beauty and challenging terrain on September 11, 2027.
The race begins at the picturesque Johns Island County Park, where ancient oaks draped in Spanish moss set the stage for an unforgettable journey through lush landscapes and winding trails. Participants can choose from various distances: a scenic 5k loop, a more demanding 10k option, or challenge yourself with half marathon (2 loops), full marathon (4 loops), and new this year—a grueling yet rewarding 50k distance.
The course features a mix of terrains including well-groomed paths through open meadows and wooded trails. Runners will loop around the 3.3-mile track, passing by an aid station at each turnaround that is fully stocked with snacks and beverages to keep you fueled throughout your run.
In addition to racing, runners can enjoy camping on site the night before (September 10th) and participate in pre-race festivities such as making s’mores around a campfire. Packet pickup will be available both Friday evening and race morning at Johns Island County Park for convenience.
Registration guarantees swag like custom t-shirts from local artist Marcus Cripps, while all finishers receive unique medals commemorating their achievement. Top three male and female runners in each distance also earn coveted awards.
Join the Dirt Dash community to experience a day of camaraderie, breathtaking scenery, and personal triumph as you navigate through this picturesque trail run on September 11th, 2027.
