The Appalachian Journey 2027

Immerse yourself in the heart of Floyd County, known affectionately as the “Center of the Universe,” for The Appalachian Journey on April 3, 2027. This unique cycling experience is designed to showcase the county’s extensive network of dirt roads and primitive trails, offering riders a chance to challenge themselves alongside friends or fellow enthusiasts.
The event features a partner format where teams consist of two cyclists who compete side by side throughout the course. The duo racing format encourages teamwork and communication as partners navigate through checkpoints with strict timing requirements—teams must stay within five minutes of each other at every checkpoint. This collaborative approach often results in faster overall times compared to solo efforts, fostering an enriching experience for all participants.

The Journey is more than just a race; it's an adventure through some of the most scenic backcountry trails and roads that the region has to offer. Whether you’re riding fast or enjoying at your own pace, this event promises an unforgettable journey among like-minded cyclists.
