Thames Riverside 20

On March 21, 2027, runners gather at Old Deer Park in Richmond for the Paced Thames River Run, hosted by Clapham Chasers Running & Triathlon Club. The race starts promptly at 9:00 AM and follows a flat 20-mile course along the south side of the River Thames towpath.
The route offers scenic views of the river while runners navigate through stretches of gravel paths that can turn muddy in places, making sturdy shoes essential for optimal performance. Mile markers guide participants throughout the journey, with clear diversions marked if necessary due to unforeseen maintenance or flooding.
Dedicated pace groups cater to various speeds from 7:00 minutes per mile down to a faster sub-7:00-minute pace. Runners should arrive by 8:30 AM and be prepared for an inclusive event that welcomes runners of all levels, aiming to complete the course before the cut-off time at 2:00 PM.
Race day amenities include covered baggage storage with supervision, cupped energy drinks and water every three miles along the route, as well as portable toilets near the start/finish area. Professional first aiders on bicycles patrol the course, ensuring immediate assistance is available if needed.
Post-race celebrations feature a spread of homemade cakes by Clapham Chasers' baking squad, with voluntary contributions going to charity. To maintain safety and ensure everyone can enjoy the event, headphones are strictly prohibited during the race.
