The event takes place on February 21, 2027, offering participants a chance to experience the Gard’s rugged terrain in late winter.
The race route winds through shaded woodlands and open fields dotted with characteristic blonde stones native to the region. Runners will encounter varied elevations that challenge both legs and lungs as they navigate rocky paths interspersed with faster sections on smoother ground. The event features four distinct formats: a 9 km run, an intermediate 18 km course, and for those seeking more of a test, there's also the new addition of a full 30 km trail race. Additionally, hikers can enjoy a leisurely 9 km hike that shares its finish line with all other participants.
What truly sets Terrà Nostrail apart is its deep connection to local culture and community spirit. Each participant receives a neck gaiter emblazoned with the event's colors as a memento of their journey, while top performers in each distance are awarded unique ceramic pieces crafted by local artisans. The race weekend also features a vibrant market showcasing pottery from some of the region’s most skilled ceramists.
The inaugural edition saw impressive numbers: 700 runners hailing from across France and even Belgium gathered to celebrate this grassroots event, supported by over one hundred volunteers and numerous local partners. For its second year, Terrà Nostrail expands with a full-length trail race while maintaining the festive village atmosphere that made it such an immediate success.
Once you cross the finish line, refuel at the complimentary refreshment station where locally sourced sausages grilled by artisan teams await. Last year alone, 79 kilograms of meat were served to hungry runners and their supporters. The town’s old center offers a charming setting for post-race exploration with its ceramist workshops and pottery shops inviting you to delve deeper into the local artistry.
