Tadcaster's Tad 10 Road Race is an exhilarating UKA-approved event, offering runners a challenging yet scenic course that winds through historic villages and charming countryside. The race route loops around the heart of Tadcaster before heading east to explore Catterton, Healaugh, and Wighill. Participants can expect rolling terrain with varied landscapes, providing both flat stretches along quiet roads and uphill sections as they venture into picturesque village centers.
A drink station is strategically placed at approximately 5 miles, offering a mix of paper cups and reusable bottles, reflecting the race's commitment to sustainability by gradually phasing out single-use plastics. Race HQ is conveniently located at The Barn on St Joseph Street in Tadcaster, where all pre-event registration details will be sent via mail before the day of the event.
Upon crossing the finish line, runners are greeted with custom-designed medals and a selection of tasty treats to celebrate their achievement. Additionally, there's a substantial prize pool for both male and female age groups as well as anyone who breaks the course record. Last year’s total prizes amounted to over £1000, making this race not just about personal bests but also competitive glory.
The current course records stand at 50:04 minutes for men set by Graham Rush in 2022 and 56:14 minutes for women held by Heather Townsend from the previous year. Can you challenge these impressive times?
Deferrals or refunds are possible, though they come with an administrative fee. After October 31st of this year, no deferral options will be available. Early entrants can expect their race materials to arrive about two weeks before the event date.
