Stour Valley Path 100km and 50km 2027

Running through one of England's most picturesque landscapes, the SVP100 offers runners an unforgettable journey along nearly the entire length of the Stour Valley Path. Spanning 100 kilometers (62 miles) from Newmarket to Cattawade near Manningtree in Essex, this race is a testament to the beauty and history that defines East Anglia.
Participants will traverse through areas celebrated by renowned artists like John Constable and Thomas Gainsborough, whose works immortalized the serene countryside of the Stour Valley. The path winds through rolling hills, tranquil meadows, and charming villages, providing an immersive experience in a setting that has inspired countless literary and artistic masterpieces.
For those looking for a shorter but equally scenic route, the SVP50 covers half of this stunning trail from Sudbury to Cattawade, allowing runners to soak up the beauty without committing to the full distance. Both races offer a unique blend of challenging terrain with breathtaking views around every turn, making it an ideal event for both seasoned and amateur long-distance runners.
Accessing the start line is straightforward, whether you choose to drive from East Anglia or take public transportation such as trains from London, the East Midlands, and Stansted Airport. The race not only celebrates physical endurance but also cultural heritage, inviting participants to connect with a landscape that has captivated artists and writers for generations.
On August 7, 2027, runners will have an opportunity to experience firsthand why this part of England is so beloved by both locals and visitors alike.
Runners are invited to explore the beauty and history of East Anglia through its scenic trails on a day that promises not just a race but a journey into the heart of one of Britain's most celebrated landscapes.
